A Darling Room for a Darling Girl – Decorating my Daughter’s Room

I know this has nothing to do with photography but since moving into our new house I have spent a lot of time figuring out how I want to decorate this new house. I started with my oldest daughter's room because I had an idea of the direction I wanted to go. I found this painting when we were moving.  My grandmother painted it for my mom years ago and I thought it would be the perfect thing to decorate my daughter's room around. I love the soft colors in it and the gorgeous vintage frame. I decided to use soft pinks, cream, and white throughout her room and I incorporated a few vintage pieces. Her dresser is a vintage piece that I refinished. The rug, tulle bedskirt, duvet cover, quilt and sham all came from Pottery Barn. As for the canopy, I made it. I used one quilting hoop and 3 sheer panels. It was so easy. I just opened the hoop and put it through the rod pocket of each panel. So easy. I got the 84" panels from Walmart. They were only $5 each and the hoop was $1. So, for $16 dollars I was able to create a beautiful canopy!!! I love a good diy project! I use this cute butterfly clip back the canopy just a little. Its all about the details, right?!This little star pillow is also a Pottery Barn item, but I got it at our local Downeast Outfitters outlet for $3.99. Sweet! These gorgeous knobs are from Hobby Lobby and I think they added the perfect touch to her dresser. I love how her room turned out! Now on to the rest of the house...

You did a pretty amazing job in decorating your daughter’s bedroom. Every piece of furniture is truly remarkable. And those room decors are really something, it gives a fresh and classy ambiance in that room. I can only imagine how happy and gratified your daughter was when she saw her room. Your grandmother’s painting is beyond beautiful, by the way.

Beautiful! What color did you paint the walls? I’ve been looking for a color like this for years! Thanks in advance!
